Skyra Ops — Privacy Policy
Skyra Ops is a companion app for Canadian drone (RPAS) pilots — flight logging, fleet and maintenance tracking, compliance reminders, and related tools. This policy explains what we collect, why, where it's stored, and your choices. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
The short version
- The app works offline. Your data lives on your device unless you create an account.
- If you sign in, your app data syncs to our cloud database hosted in Canada (Supabase, Montreal
ca-central-1). - We use your location only when you ask (to centre the map and fetch local weather).
- The optional AI document scan sends the document you choose to our AI provider to read a few fields from it.
- We do not show ads or use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
- We never sell your personal information.
What we collect and why
Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password, used to sign you in and associate your synced data with you.
App content you create. Flights, aircraft/fleet, maintenance, batteries, payloads, compliance items, clients, jobs, crew, incident reports, saved map pins, checklists, and settings. This stays on your device, and — if you're signed in — syncs to your private cloud records.
Location. With your permission, the app uses your device location to centre the map, find saved sites near you, and fetch local weather. You can decline and still use the app.
Documents you add. Files you attach are stored on your device; they are not uploaded to our cloud in the current version.
AI document scan (optional, Pro). When you tap "Scan document", the image or PDF you select is sent — over an encrypted connection, through our secure server function — to our AI provider (Anthropic) to extract document fields. The result is returned for you to review and confirm. The document is processed for that request, is not stored by our server function, and is not used to train AI models.
Diagnostic logs. Our server may log technical error information to keep the service working. These logs are not used to profile you.
We do not collect advertising identifiers, contacts, or device tracking data.
How your information is shared
We share personal information only with service providers that operate the app, and only as needed:
- Supabase — authentication and cloud database/storage (hosted in Canada,
ca-central-1). - Anthropic — AI processing for the document scan, only for documents you scan.
- Open-Meteo and NOAA SWPC — weather data, queried with coordinates only.
- Google Play Billing / RevenueCat — (when paid subscriptions launch) to process subscriptions. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Where your data is stored
Cloud data (your account and synced app content) is stored in Canada (Supabase ca-central-1, Montreal). Some providers (e.g. the AI provider) may process a request outside Canada at the moment you use that feature; by using that feature you consent to that processing. Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).
How long we keep it
We keep your account and synced data until you delete it or close your account. On-device data remains until you remove it or uninstall the app. You can wipe local data anytime via Settings → Clear all data.
Your choices and rights (PIPEDA)
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information (most data is editable in the app).
- Delete your data — clear it on-device, or email us to delete your account and cloud data.
- Withdraw consent — revoke the location permission, or stop using optional features like the AI scan.

Children
Skyra Ops is intended for licensed/operating drone pilots and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections, row-level access controls so each account can only reach its own data, and we keep API keys server-side (never in the app). No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
Not an official or legal authority
Skyra Ops is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Transport Canada, NAV CANADA, or any government body. Its reminders, "cleared to fly" readiness indicator, and airspace links are aids only — always confirm airspace, currency, and regulatory requirements through official sources before every flight.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy; we'll change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
